Welcome to Galant Tuners! Your premier source for the Mitsubishi Galant. We specialize in all different types of Galants in performance and visually. We want to create a community of Galant owners who share not only a common interest in their cars, but a common interest in sharing their experience and ideas with the goal of helping one another. Everyone has something to share and contribute and you're encouraged to do so. Whether you're a brand new owner or a long-time owner, your input will help build this site. By working together as a community, answering questions, providing info and sharing ideas, the site will grow, along with the individuals that are a part of it.
The E39a Galant VR-4 has a reputation of being a sleeper and a rare breed of car since only 3000
of them were imported from Japan in 91-92 combined. Alot of them are scrap metal now..some a pure
race cars...and a few are clean and well restored for the most part. This brings us to one of our
GT members Jesse, also known as MadbeachDSM here on the GT community.
The story from the owner We bought a Galant VR-4, #145/2000 in Orlando back in Januaray, 2009. It couldn't stop there, actually we bought two as a package deal, the other owned by Dee (Meklo) that we sold to him last year. I've been in the DSM scene for about 6-years. I've known what a Galant VR-4 is for most of that time, what I didn't know until around September 2008 is that I really needed to own one. Over the next few months after that, the need grew greater (well, want, I really wanted one), after looking on Ebay, craigslist, etc., etc. for months and months, I finally found one, well, I found two, as a package deal, and I knew I really needed to go ahead and make that bid. After the first couple days into the auction, I thought they were going to go for a hefty price. I waited it out in hopes to bid at the last minute and 6 days later, I had the winning bid in the last few minutes. I scored the last minute bid. Several hundred dollars above what I was willing and able to pay, but I spent the last week scraping together every ounce of funds I could to be able to make the final payment, and I did. I wanted one, I really didn't need two, but I made plans for the other and shortly after decided 3 DSM's/VR-4's are 1 too many and made plans to sell the other VR-4. So, onto 145. She has been a beauty from day one. She has been a rust-free Florida car that spent a vast majority (registration-wise, anyway), in Orlando. That's a good sign, and it shows on her body, chassis and everywhere else aside from the peeling clearcoat on the roof and fenders. It makes for a very clean build.
