im taking her ass to court over this one and she is definitely going to have this on her record instead of mine. i just hate that the cop that was in charge just didnt care what i had to say and didnt even really listen to what happened. all he saw was that my car collided with hers, not that she caused the accident and then tried to run. he didnt even care that the two statements he got from the people in the other car didnt match up. i love Utah. oh how i do love Utah......

engine is fine. didnt hit hard because i was already preparing for her being an asshole. i just didnt expect the brembos to lock up like they did but then again with it being so cold outside that night and being on a newly paved road, it just turned into what you see.

BJ, I know your pain, I have said this story many times of how I got interested in tuning my car, in the midst of fixing the front end after some dumbass slammed on his brakes in front of me and didn't realize that I hit him for a solid 3 seconds, I go permanently bonded to my car, hehe, you have less damage as I do though, I think all that you need is a new grill, radiator support and a hood, I had a nice laundry list of parts for me and I still have a cracked radiator

BJ, that sucks man. At least it appears to be fixable. It seems every time you start to accomplish something, somebody has to mess it up. You're planning to fix it again, right?

Man that sucks. Take her dumb ass to the cleaners. I have had a few people do that shit to me. Haven't hit any of them yet. (knock in wood)
Well one guy got punched in the face for it, but he was talking mad shit even though it was his fault I almost rearended him. Cars didn't even touch, but he had a big mouth so I knocked him on his ass for it.

wow... im speachless. Doesn't matter if it was your build and great project, its just the fact that people are idiots. Anyone that is willing to do that, did it on purpose for a reason. I'd sue for the hours of work (which the court can determine a price on) it would take you to swap it all to a new body.

I'm sure if BJ flashes his military ID, they will see his story instead of the asshole's story driving their pos.  It's unfortunate for BJ but somebody got what they had coming.  I hope they see jail time or have to pay some major fines.  I freakin hate some people.

BJ...didn't see this thread till now.

OMG...just saw the pics of your 8g, first off I am glad you are safe and not heavily injured.

Its unfortunate, and sucks....one of the reasons I don't like driving my Galants.

Keep us updated bro, glad that you are ok but hope you get those bastards that may be scamming.

I was just thinking about BJ's car.  Did his airbags go off?  That would royally suck even though from the damage it looks like it should have.

When I crashed my car, my airbags didn't go off and I had more damage

no airbag deployment. that was another point that i brought to the attention of the police that arrived on the scene. i said, if i wanted to ram the back of her car as you had presumed then the engine bay would be destroyed and my airbags would've deployed. honestly had she not stopped this would not have happened. period. i seriously cant figure out if i want to go back though. i mean, the damage isnt that bad really, but for crying out loud what a kick in the nuts to have some chick be an asshole after only driving on the new motor for 120miles?!

My thoughts exactly lol.   Just drive the evo for awhile.  One day, probably spring season (no snow); you'll come back to it with the will to go on.  Do what Matt does here and put her on the back burner for now.  I wish I was closer, I would just help ya through it.

This is getting a biy off topic

I'm going to be honest, you guys are blowing the cost of reparing the front end of his car way, way out of proportion, I had a much longer list of part that I had to replace when I was fixing my front end and I the entire repair for a little over $800, and that was with paint! With Matt's car he has to replace the radiator support, radiator, hood and grill, with paint from a none rip off paint shop and the parts not from a dealership, this would cost maybe $400, $550 at the most, but don't let the courts know that if he's still sueing that lady into the ground

Matt, if my economic constraints wouldn't exist right now, I would fly over to you and fix your car for you, I understand your anger at the lady but to get through fixing your car weather the court will be in your favor or not, but it will not cost you that much to fix your car provided the engine was untouched and your radiator was just bent

Did you see that radiator?  The quality of the parts on this car are not like the stock ones on yours.  The cost is going to be way higher than just a stock rebuild.  No offense but you really don't know the damage unless you were looking at it yourself.
