Northstar White Eclipse GSX
« on: January 29, 2011, 10:00:36 PM »
Picked this up today.  1 previous owner, 5spd, and 109k on the clock.  Not crazy about the wheels but 500 miles on all tires =)

I have all oil change receipts, all belt receipts including timing, and water pump change.  Everything seems to be pretty solid.

Tons of fun in the snow!

C L E A N ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Damn nice addition Keith! Now, don't hold back on us, get this thing up on a lift and take some under car pics of the T-Case back to the rear end. Gives some of us a good visual of the AWD components needed from the 2nd Gen to do the AWD Conversion :)

Thanks guys!  She'll be up on the lift today.  I'm going to see if I can grab some measurements while its up there.

btw, I felt bad about the guy selling it to me.  He was only selling it because he's allowed one vehicle where he's moving and he bought a new truck a few months back.

But I assured him its going to a good home and had shown him some of the pics of my brothers talon that had been eclipse converted.  He was pretty happy about that.

That is one clean 2g...almost looks like it came off the showroom floor.

Get some stock GSX wheels, those chrome swirlies don't do the 2g justice.

-1996 Galant 5 speed 2.4l turbo
-1991 Galant VR4 1948/2000

Tell me about it!  The wheels are an eyesore unless they're in motion.  My brothers going to slap his 18in eclipse gt wheels on it.  Kind of funny because my summer wheels are currently gsx wheels.

Didn't you have a set of Evo wheels sitting around still? Also, not that it really worked out in the best way...but can you take the wheels off your Galant and put on or were they damaged?

I still have the evo wheels yes.  I think the one wheel was damaged in the accident, but we'll find out tomorrow when I see it in daylight.

bought an evoIII 16g turbo as the evo8 turbo wouldn't fit (my bad).  She is licensed and insured, clutch is changed, and new exhaust!

Heard that!  The valve cover was leaking before this one was painted.  It's all good now.

scew the stock eclipse wheels.  Just find a nice set of evo wheels.  honestly every evo wheel look great on 2g's / 7g's.  It has the factory appeal with the aftermarket fit.  evoIX wheels would be perfect.
Nice find.

We started with a 10ft length of mild steel 16 gauge 3in exhaust piping.  Fabricated it up to make the necessary bends for the gsx, added a magnaflow high flow cat, and put on a Vibrant dual tip muffler.

This one's just showing how straight the pipe is compared to the drive shaft.

I absolutely love the tone this car has.  It is pretty loud but overall I think it's got a nice sound.

Car sounds good, what's next for it?

Just picked up the piping for the VR4 myself but I'll be running straight pipe. Who needs a muffler!
