DIY: Wide Body Galant hatch (warning many pics)
« on: October 28, 2011, 11:11:35 PM »
Hey guys, just thought id share my mitsu thats been in the making since i was 19.... many mods have been done.... and many removed... the car changes as often as i change pants lol...  i can hardly remember what i have done to it over the years so i'll let the picture do the talking..

soo far basics..... the car started as an N/A, then copped boost by Eaton M45 from a Mini Cooper, blew that up in Marysville twisties just before the bush fire, and its now boosted by a Evo8 Reverse turbo and on its 4th manifold (dont ask wasnt happy where my boost was....)

its almost summer, i hope we can all cruise soon!!

stats:
2nd engine, full rebuilt high comp N/A+t (yes it works fine)
3rd gear box
custom fitted 1way LSD
lost count of how many wheels have been on the car id say..... 15th set?....
4stud to 5 stud conversion (i'm the only idiot to attempt it on this car lol)
4th set of drive shafts
Tein coil overs all round from a VR4 with custom springs on rear
probably 23rd exhaust, its gone from single/twin/quad, 2.25"/2.5"/3" and variants of each (i'm picky on how my car sounds..)
E30 M3 BMW head lights
6000k HID's
slotted disc's all round
custom rear R33 style tail lights
custom dash board lighting
custom interior lighting
custom audio
Cordia front bucket seats
custom Evo6 bonnet
custom Wide Body, 30mmm wider rear, 50mm wider fronts
custom Turbo manifolds from drag style long runner to tuned length to short throw runner (yes each one makes a difference on the road)
Custom IC piping
Custom RX3 Radiator
Used to have custom Supercharger kit using M45 Eaton from Mini
custom strut braces front and rear
currently running on 17X9.5 +22 Blitz Type 01

oh goosh i'll update when or if i remember the other mods....

some linky's....

pics whoring: Engine Time line
N/A

S/C

T/C

randomized photos

i'll be shot for all this pics lol.. Enjoy!... :facejump:

boredom leads to....

yet again another exhaust.... i have changed my exhaust to date... 28 times (and no i am no kidding)

making adjustable coil overs.... its what happens when no one makes parts for your car anymore...

dead JIC's from an R34

replacement inserts..

machining the lil shits to fit..

assembly

old vs new

installed and at less then 1/8th the price of new....

got some Jap styling, Rain Guards! JDM YO!

running out of bloody space

and yet another bloody turbo set up, and new custom manifold... (i'll go broke from changing setups so often)

mmmmmmm HKS goodnesssssss

old vs new...

love it when you dont need to pay someone to weld ya sheit!...
\

exhaust upgrades (again)

Twin 2.25", the only thing i ever liked about the new VE's.... Stainless Steel mufflers

flutes dont always have to be straight!!!! (the space it went into has stupid curves)

the pursuit of the right sounding exhaust....

bought a new magnaflow muffler..... its not that big..... 28" long, 7" round, 5" inlet and out its actually meant for a Truck..... okay okay its a truck stack muffler :P

Making it fit my car... angle grinder comes in handy...

added 200cel CAT....

checking if it fits.....

final product.... okay it is a HUGE BIATCH but it fits with clearance!

few imperfections but meh.... cheaper than paint....

so yer had a go at the whole garden edging thing.........

gave it some aerodynamics

and some more carbon covering..

and some porting and welding for new 68mm throttle...

current engine pik..

and thanks to our friend from Mits Fix....... something interesting will be happening to my engine bay shortly.....

Keep an eye out on this space!

i'm glad you all like it...

i'll get some recent picks up when the 4GTuner crew have a yearly gathering...

for the guys thinking of supercharging, rather then using Eaton or Vortech kits which cost you the same price of what you bought the car...

here is my DIY kit you can try if you are handy with tools: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

if you have a question, just ask... i dont bite :P

used Microtech LT8, was simple and ran well but useless under 3KRPM awesome at 5KRPM+ (then again it was probably my stupidly insane cam)

currently on the car i'm using N/A cams + 1mm over sized valves intake/exhaust, the ones in the "stage 3 cam vid" where some custom 272's with 10.5mm lift, slightly insane for daily driving...

i hardly post picks of inside the car as everyone on here should know what the inside of a galant should look like.... here is my version..
