Pic1 is my RVR ECU socketed. Take a look at the microprocessor, most likely your ECU has this too. It's mean your ECU is OBD1.5/hybrid. It uses OBD2 data link connector and similar 2G ROM codes but 1G DTC and emission. Basically, an ECU made during the time of transition to OBD2. You can not log using an OBD2 NOR OBD1 logger cable, log with either Evoscan with a generic 16-pin cable for Evo I-III/MUT-II or PalmOS with a MUT-II file and homemade cable.

Pic2 is the ECU connecter, looks like a OBD1 ECU from the 1G but the plugs are like the OBD2 style

Good new is that there are some ECU upgrade available. List below are some ECUs that are plug and play while others require swapping some wires at the harness. Most of them have an eprom and there are definition files available for either SOHC-distributor or DOHC-coil.

Known 94-95 ECU style connectors:
95-96 Euro Eclipse Turbo
95-96 Euro Eclipse NT
94-97 Mitsu RVR/Space Runner
92-96 Lancer Evolution I-III
94-95 Mirage/Summit [SOHC]
93-95 Expo[SOHC]
95 Galant Cali-Spec[SOHC]
94 Galant GS

94-95 Mirage 4G15[Speed Density]

Great info posted man

I myself is doing my research on the 98-99 2g turbo ECU's as they are now able to Evo Flash those ECU's.

Something I am looking at seriously in the near future.

Well, I believe the 2G ecu connectors are the same as the 94-95 minus the fourth connector. The pins are the same, just need to confirm it. If so, I will purchase an extension harness for the 2G/3G/Evo and do a write up on what's needed to complete the swap.

96-98 7gs have the same 4 connectors as the 2g turbo ECU's.

I like the idea of being able to flash the 98-99 2g turbo ECU's...soo much easier to tune.

Do you like Speed Density, their are some 4g15 Mirage owners that swap the 4g64 in their cars.
