Will post everything including history later. For current progress. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm getting a 5 spd transmission with all swap parts. Picking it up the weekend of the 24th. Very excited nonetheless.

guys.. i wrecked the g this morning =(

well what you see here is me being a dumbass driving drunk. I went straight where i should have turned. i think i fell asleep. a friend of mine was following me and watched me jump it off into the bushes and crap. basically my car hit a jump, theres about 15ft of no tracks from where my car left the road and hit this mound of dirt, to where the car actually landed.. im so pissed off at myself right now.

Something came up in my trunk and dented the top of it. cracked the paint/clear. Have to repaint it again. yay (sarcasm)






Bent the exhaust. when i landed.




The damage:
Front bumper obviously, cracked paint on the trunk, mirror bolt sockets are stripped (not a big deal), Radiator needs to be replaced, AC lines need replacing, radiator fans need replacing, radiator support/bumper support? something metals bent, fog lights/bulbs, mud guards, my mental state.

looks like 5 spd swap will have to hold.. glad i have the money for the repairs in the bank and everything. like wtf im so dumb.

The only thing im doing today is taking her apart and putting her on the lift. i mean i hit a jump. could be plenty of stuff i dont see immediately. just got done ordering all the parts. good thing i have leftover paint from 11 months ago. thanks for the support guys. try not to be too harsh on me right now. lol

Keith, this sucks to see. Glad you weren't hurt. Just use this as a learning lesson. Good luck with getting the car back in shape again.

Well, its not as abad as I was expecting man. The drinking and driving part...well Ill slap you upside the head when I see you LOL. We all make the mistakes at some point so biggest thing is you and nobody ese were seriously hurt. All you can do is just learn from it and move forward. If you need any parts let us know and we can all see what we can find/offer your to help you out.

well.. my friend that was following me/tried to stop me said i almost hit a truck head on. If you look at the pics. another 6+ inches to the right and i would have rolled it. 6+ inches to the left and i would have hit that big ass tree.

im considering myself to be very fortunate. i don't think it was me driving my car last night/this morning. some one else was looking out for me. im just glad thats all that happened.

Umm i'll post pics in a little bit. My engine is actually tilted different in the engine bay. The radiator support bar next to the frame is bent. you'll be able to see it when i get pictures posted of that. i will definitely need to cut and weld for it to be back to normal. good thing my brothers a decent welder... Team work! lol

Car should be done and painted again next weekend providing the parts get here by then. Everything i need is already bought and should be here on thursday.

well heres tonights progress.. i'll be welding in a new support bar and stuff. looks like i should pick up a new motor mount as well.

I believe that bar in the center is supposed to be straight. lol

Keith you should of known better honestly, that number of accidents from drunk driving is up there. I would say you're real lucky you didn't do more damage, go to jail, or die. Hope you get it back together soon.

im glad to hear ur ok. the car is replaceable but ur life. u only get one. live and learn. i dont ever think about drinking and driving. i always have a dd before i start to drink.

tonights progress:






Not done bending shit back, but after it looks and proves itself straight. some nice welding with some new support bars are going in.

Bumper, radiator, foglight, and fog light bulbs should be here tomorrow. Just need to pick up more wire/gas for my welder.

Expecting paint friday night. going to put a new trunk on and paint separately from the spoiler.
Plan on being done with everything saturday night, including paint dry. will take more pics.

the swap would probably be another weekend project. i have to wait until i have time to do it again. it probably wont happen until summer now or at least spring break lol.

the paint is drying as we speak, just need to apply 1 more coat and let it dry again. then onto the clear. i'll have pics of everything after the clear is dry. already had a run on the trunk

You're a dumb ass.. Glad you're ok.. Why would you replace the trunk? Why not just flatten it and paint? Anywho, I'm glad you're joining the V6 swapped Galants.. Make sure you get a fidanza flywheel.. Makes a hell of a difference.

umm yea im a dumbass.. i replaced the trunk because my the trunk thats on it has a ton of body caulk for the spoiler.. i just didn't feel like sanding that down and banging out the dent. I would have to fiberglass that and just didn't sound like a weekend project anymore. i had a perfectly good one upstairs from the first time my car had to get redone so i just used that. already had spoiler holes in it.

tonights update.. almost done guys. feels like friday never came seriously.. i didn't do a dam thing but work on this thing. anyway, heres a ton of pics:

Had to drill new holes in my spoiler. It appears that the holes that were used in my old trunk were different.





Was up til 5am working on the car so i could drive it today.. it was so worth it.
