Blue8g's Blue 8 g

Postby blue8g » Thu Apr 22, 2010 12:13 am

I've decided to move my build thread from TGC to here, so here goes

I bought my 2003 Galant DE on November 19, 2008 with 68k miles.
She looked like this:

Image

Then in my infinite wisdom I got rid of the hubcaps (Why I don't know) (January 2009 ish)

Image

Then I finally did something right, I tinted my windows and got JDM 3rd gen tail lights, and a Magnaflow muffler, oh and debadged it (May/June 2009 ish)

Image

Then these sweet things came in the mail:

Image

Now riding on a Tein/GR-2 combo (August 23rd 2009)

Image
Image
Image

Less than three days later bang! New wheels

Ray's G-Games Sidewinders 18x7.5 +48

Image
Image
Image

Rode around on those for a month and then sold them

I recently bought these bad boys

BBS RG-R 17x8 +40

Engine Bay

With that said, comment and criticism is wholly welcome and appreciated. If anyone wants any other pictures I'll try to get those asap.

Mod List So Far:
Tein/GR-2
18x7.5 Ray's Sidewinders (SOLD)
17x8 BBS RG-R
35% Tint
3rd Gen Tails
Magnaflow Race Series Muffler
eBay "JDM" Rear Visor (SOLD)
3g STB

Coming Soon:
Rear Disk Swap by Mid-May
Hopefully a 6g72 TB

and maybe just maybe something big, awesome, and expensive.......this is yet to be determined there are a few options

seems like you have your head in the right place. not gonna lie, at first i was like "sighs" then i saw the G-games and then the step up to the BBS's and i was like "whoa!" looking good so far, my only thing is i have never been partial to the 02-03 bumper. i hate that thing because it takes away from the rest of the great body lines the galant has. thats why the jdm bumpers and the 99-01 bumpers get so much play. but then again i will say that with the right lip the 02-03 bumper can be a looker. take a look at marc's vrg lip on his 02-03 bumper and post up if you like it or not.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the 02/03 front either, and I've got a few options on how to change that.
-Cut off beak put on Liberal or Vogue Grill find lip
-JDM Conversion

and Thanks lol

as for the modded VR-G lip on the 02/03 front, I love it....I think that lip with one of the grills I posted would be sexy sauce

blue8g...love the direction you are going with your Galant man! Its clean and simple...but yet its still a eye catcher.

Love the BBS wheels...goes very well with the car!

Looking forward to seeing your progress and thank you for posting your build thread here!!

You car has always been one of the cleanest looking, I will agree that the 02-03 front ends take away from the clean cut and bold lines of the car. I think with how you have come along with the car so far, a VR4 front end conversion, or a 99-01 front end with a new pass side light or JDM heads would really set off a great look for you.

Any shots of the engine bay?

The car is clean with the BBS wheels! For some reason the blue is very appealing to me. I think an old style VR4 front would set the car off just right.

You weren't kidding about stock. The bay is pretty clean looking though. If you dont want much for under the hood even a header and intake would be enough to "spice" it up a bit.

well I love NA power, but it's just not really feasible on the 4g6x platform imo.....so i'm going to leave it basically 100% stock, and just gradually pick up turbo parts

yeah I guess I'll see how it goes, I'm not too worried, they're really nice coil-overs so I'm sure the shocks will be set-up to where they work nicely

Yes i know i sound retarded, idk suspension

Whether you still had a Galant or not man its always good to see somebody sticking to the car stuff. Enjoy it because when you get older and have a family it gets harder to really enjoy it like you used to lol

Im not a big Honda fan, though I do like the S2000 lol. I am a car guy though and I can appreicate the work people put into a car regardless of its brand really. You have a good mind for what you do with the car stuff as you showed with the Galant already, just keep it your own style and you will enjoy it.

Coming Soon:
Rear Disk Swap by Mid-May
Hopefully a 6g72 TB
and maybe just maybe something big, awesome, and expensive.......this is yet to be determined there are a few options

Are you considering the RPW Twin throttle body assembly? That would be something just completely awsome for an NA 4cy built on your Galant. I don't think anyone on this continent has this mod, in theory, I think this would give you 200+ hp without headers or cams, just a suggestion

I don't think he has anything like this planned anymore lol.

Anyway, I saw you get a nice paint job! It would add a ton of class to your civic. You might think it looks decent now but after a fresh coat, it always looks better. You should think about it.

Just a complete guess on what could be something big, awsome and expensive could be, a lot of people do DOHC swaps onto i4 Galants and put on turbos, it would just be awsome to see this happen because I have never heard of anyone doing this and I would really like to see the results using dual throttle bodies on a 4 cylinder, this is all beside the fact this is the wildest mod you can do to one.

Keith you read my mind haha

This winter I'm buying a daily (either another G, an old Jag, or a Toyota Previa (yes my DD will be modded haha, but VIP this time)) and while it's not being driven I'm getting the rust repaired; pass. door/hood/hatchback replaced, and a new roof (i don't like sunroofs, I'm getting a sunroof less roof, yes I know how stupid that is)
