6G75 ECU reflash Dyno Results

Postby monnewbie3 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 11:37 am

Hey guys I posted this up in another Galant forum that I frequent.. Thought I'd share with you guys.

"Last night we (Hackish, WolverineOttawa) did a couple Dynos.
One of which was on my '07 9G Galant Ralliart (6G75) with the ECU flashed.

This Dyno shows the stock results (2) vs the Reflash Results (1).

The tests were done on a Mustang Dyno while the car was warm (the cooler car yielded better results, but not as realistic), and we took the highest of the stock results.

Videos were taken by Brent and Mike (Hackish, WolverineOttawa), so if you would like to see them you should ask them.

Results;
+11WHP, +16WTQ"

Thanks for bringing this over here man. Have you guys played with the ECU flash anymore? Do you have a copy of the ROM and definition files from the flash? I would like to see those files for the 8th Gen folks running the 01+ ECU swap who would take up the 75 swap as well.

I am curious with the ECU flash on the Galant...if its compatible with the Endeavors as they share the same motor and most of the electronic setup.

Is the ECU flash for the 6G75 MIVEC able to work for a non MIVEC 6G75?

Yea it will work on the non-mivec as well. It is just the ECU that differs between the two, but the key thing is the 01+ ECUs are flashable. I am still learning on the EcuFlash stuff, but I think you would need a definition file as well so you know what parameters are what.

Interesting...I would have been trying to get my friend of Jestr Tuning to see if he is going to flash Galant/Endeavor. I would love to get a nice Flash on the Endeavor not only to get better MPG and add some power. I already know that the fuel maps on the Endeavor are rich.

The flash has been completed and optimized for the 6G75 MIVEC from the 9G.

I don't have a copy of these files. I highly doubt the guy who did the flash will give these codes up. He spent over 900+ Hours Decrypting the 4G eclipse Codes (6G75 MIVEC engine as well) and about 30+ Hours on the 9G, and the hardware he has for reading and flashing is custom built. But I'm sure you can ask him some questions about it.

Club9g.net has all the details of the flash in the Electronics section.

At this moment I'm going to have to say no.

The endeavors share the same Non-Mivec engine as the 9G GTS, and I'm pretty sure Hack will have to put some more work into the ECU on the GTS.
I also believe that even when the GTS is done, it won't be directly swappable with the Endeavor. Case in point, the 4G eclipse and 9G ralliart share the same engine, and electronics... even the chips codes are the same on the physical board... However the fuel mappings and a few other things were different and involved more work.
Now this being a SUV... I'm pretty sure there will be a few minor differences between the 2.

Now this isn't to say it Can't be done... but any differences between the codes are handled properly and tuned to perfection (if you know Hack, he's a perfectionist).

That is unfortunate, though I know the 4g Eclipse stuff is running off CAN instead of OBDII like I will be working with tos the software and everything won't cross over even. I was just curious to see what the fuel and ignition tables looked like for the 6g75, any chance of getting some screenshots of the tables for us to look at?

I will have to check out that website as well, I am doing my best to get a good "collection" of very experienced Galant owners on our site here as well, so I may have to shoot the guy an invite to join us as well.

Just an update;

We're currently working on a handheld unit that can be flashed through a OBD2 port as a standalone unit.
Hack is also working on shift kit as well...
